Enhance your fall dining experience with sips and savors inspired by the vibrant flavors of the island of Cyprus

On Wednesday, October 5, guests are invited to a dinner that will take them on a journey to the Eastern Mediterranean, featuring traditional Cypriot dishes and wines. Award-winning wine expert Lauren Friel will be onsite to share her extensive knowledge of Mediterranean wines and guide guests through what promises to be a memorable evening celebrating the region.

Committee’s popular Mediterranean Wine Dinner Series takes place on the first Wednesday of every month, featuring a five-course wine dinner inspired by the flavors of a different Mediterranean region, paired with wines from the area.

The menu for the Cypriot Wine Dinner is as follows:

First Course


purslane, cucumber, grilled haloumi

Paired with: Cypriot Cocktail

Second Course


Cypriot olive pies

Paired with: 2015 Tsiakkas Xinisteri

Third Course


ground meat in crusty bulgur with teardrop tomato, raisin, Commandaria wine salsa

Paired with: 2013 Tsiakkas Vamvakada

Fourth Course


pork belly braised in red wine, coriander seeds

Paired with: siakkas Commandaria

Fifth Course


Slow-cooked oven-baked lamb, served with patates

Paired with: Loel Commandaria Alasia


Tahini-Phyllo Rolls

served with fresh seasonal fruit

Paired with: ‘St. John Commandaria
