Brass Union will debut a new residency music series with Somerville’s own Boston Free Radio dubbed “Monday Mixdown,” the counterpart to its outdoor “Monday Mixtape” summer music series. Each month, Brass Union will set the stage for a Boston Free Radio takeover that brings some of the city’s top deejay talents to the Brass lounge for a night of throwbacks and current chart toppers while the sets are broadcasted live on bostonfreeradio.com.
For its launch, Boston Free Radio has tapped local favorites DJ Ole Mic Odd and HRTSTPPR for back-to-back sets featuring soul, funk, hip-hop and R&B tracks.
Boston Free Radio is an all-volunteer free-speech community radio station based out of Union Square in Somerville. Since 2011, Boston Free Radio has operated as part of SCATV with dozens of volunteer BFR producers and DJs who work hard to put together engaging, interesting and eclectic programs for the audience and community. To stream the deejay sets live, please visit bostonfreeradio.com.
